We want you to be completely satisfied with your Factor Parts order. If something isn't right, we're here to help. Please review our return policy below before initiating a return.

Return Policy Overview

30-day return window — Returns must be initiated within 30 days of the delivery date shown in your shipping confirmation email.

Most new, unused parts in their original packaging are eligible for return. Once a part has been installed or shows signs of use, it is no longer returnable. This policy exists because a used or installed part cannot be resold to another customer and may have been altered in ways that affect safety.

What Can Be Returned

The following items are generally eligible for return within 30 days of delivery:

  • New, uninstalled parts in original, undamaged manufacturer packaging
  • Parts ordered incorrectly by the customer (restocking fee may apply)
  • Parts that arrived damaged or defective (see "Defective / Wrong Parts" section)
  • Parts that were shipped in error by Factor Parts

All returned parts must include the original packaging, all hardware, brackets, and accessories that were included. Parts returned without complete packaging may be subject to additional deductions or rejection.

Non-Returnable Items

The following products cannot be returned under any circumstances:

  • Electrical components — sensors, ECMs, starters, alternators, ignition modules (once removed from packaging, these cannot be verified as uninstalled)
  • Special-order parts — items ordered specifically for your vehicle that are not stocked inventory
  • Hazardous materials — batteries, refrigerants, chemical products
  • Installed or used parts — any part showing signs of installation, use, or modification
  • Parts beyond the 30-day window — items returned after 30 days of the delivery date
  • Parts without original packaging — items missing manufacturer box, hardware, or documentation

How to Return a Part

Initiate Your Return
Contact our support team at 1-800-328-2674 or support@factorparts.com with your order number and the reason for return. We'll confirm eligibility and issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.

Pack & Ship
Pack the item securely in its original manufacturer packaging. Write your RMA number clearly on the outside of the box. Ship to: Factor Parts Returns, 28010 Eucalyptus Ave, Moreno Valley, CA 92555.

Receive Your Refund
Once we receive and inspect the returned item (typically 2–3 business days), your refund will be processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method.

Returns sent without an RMA number may be delayed or rejected. Do not return parts without first contacting customer service.

Return Shipping Costs

  • Customer error (wrong part ordered, changed mind): Customer is responsible for return shipping. A 15% restocking fee may apply.
  • Our error (wrong part shipped, defective item): Factor Parts will provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you.
  • Warranty returns: Shipping coverage depends on the specific manufacturer's warranty terms.

Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method once the returned item has been received and inspected. Please allow:

  • 2–3 business days for us to receive and inspect your return after it arrives at our warehouse
  • 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your account after we process it
  • 1–2 additional billing cycles for the credit to appear on a credit card statement (varies by bank)

Shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to a Factor Parts error. If a restocking fee applies, it will be deducted from your refund. You will receive an email confirmation when your refund has been processed.

Exchanges

We do not process direct exchanges. If you need a different part, please return the original item following the process above and place a new order for the correct part. This ensures the fastest possible turnaround — new orders typically ship within 1–2 business days.

Defective or Incorrect Parts

If you received a part that is defective out of the box, arrived damaged during shipping, or is not the part described on your order confirmation, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will:

  • Issue a prepaid return shipping label
  • Process a full refund or send a replacement at no additional charge
  • File any necessary damage claims with the shipping carrier on your behalf

Photograph any visible damage before returning — this helps us file carrier claims and improve our packaging. Email photos along with your order number to support@factorparts.com.

Core Charges

Some remanufactured parts (alternators, starters, brake calipers, water pumps, etc.) carry a core charge. This charge is a deposit collected at the time of purchase and is refunded when you return your old ("core") part.

  • The core part must be returned within 30 days of your order delivery date
  • The core must be the same part number or compatible type as specified in the product listing
  • The core must be rebuildable — severely damaged, melted, or missing cores may not qualify
  • Core refunds are processed within 5–10 business days of receiving and inspecting the core

Core charges are listed separately on your order total and will appear as a separate refund line item on your statement.
